Urban planning in Saudi Arabia: The Future City (NEOM) is, in fact, the construction of a linear city consisting of two parallel skyscrapers, each 170 kilometres long, 200 metres wide and 500 metres high. The area in the centre will be used for the transport of residents. The metropolis will extend from the Red Sea coast to the interior of the Arabian Peninsula. This city is known as the Line. Inside the skyscrapers, all necessary urban infrastructure will be built, including green parks, stadiums, etc. NEOM is about to become the “world’s largest building materials customer” in the next few decades, including the demand for steel elevators, cement, construction materials, etc.
